Week 3: Marcus Lattimore joins the top five
Not much movement at the very top of the Heisman poll - as Stanford QB Andrew Luck, Boise St QB Kellen Moore, and Oklahoma QB Landry Jones remain the top three, each with over 94% support from the 52 Heisman voters who participted this week. Michigan QB Denard Robinson moved up to #4, closely followed by South Carolina RB Marcus Lattimore making his first appearance in the top five. Baylor QB Robert Giffin III follows closely behind as well.
Alabama RB Trent Richardson dropped from #4 to #9, as only 75% of Heisman voters included him on their top-15 watch lists.
The biggest climbers this week were USC QB Matt Barkley, who jumps from #19 to #12, now with 51% of Heisman voters including him on their top-15 watch lists; and FIU WR T.Y. Hilton, up to #18.
New to the Heisman top 25 were #15 Florida RB Chris Rainey, #23 LSU DB Tyrann Mathieu, and #24 Florida QB John Brantley. Back to the top 25 after missing out last week were #17 West Virginia QB Geno Smith, #20 Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill, and #21 Nebraska DT Jared Crick.
Oregon QB Darron Thomas dropped fast from #17 to #25. Dropping out entirely were Auburn RB Michael Dyer, Michigan St QB Kirk Cousins, Tennessee QB Tyler Bray, Virginia Tech RB David Wilson, Florida St QB E.J. Manuel, and Arizona St QB Brock Osweiler (all 6-foot-8 of him, as ESPN would say.)
52 actual Heisman voters from 29 states participated in this week's StiffArmTrophy.com poll.
