ESPN: Turf toe injury slows Nebraska QB Martinez

LINCOLN, Neb. – News and notes out Nebraska football practice on Tuesday:

• Quarterback Taylor Martinez missed practice because of a turf toe injury, wearing a boot on his left foot.

His status remains in doubt for the Huskers’ final nonconference game on Saturday against South Dakota State at Memorial Stadium. If Martinez is unable to play, senior Ron Kellogg III or redshirt freshman Tommy Armstrong would start. If healthy, Martinez will play.
