He needed a strong finish. He got it against Texas, helping Baylor beat the Longhorns 48-24 on Saturday.
That's the first time since 1991-92 the Bears had beaten the Longhorns in consecutive seasons.
Baylor improved on last year's record, when it started 7-2 and lost its final four games. The Bears are now 9-3 and knocking on the door of a 10-win season for the second time in school history, the first since 1980.
