Some interesting numbers to consider from the Discover Orange Bowl, courtesy of ESPN's Stats & Information. Coaches love to talk about balanced offenses, but the Cardinal are the real deal. They averaged 211 yards rushing and 256 yards passing this year. In their 40-12 win over Virginia Tech, they rushed for 247 yards and passed for 287. The first benefit of balance: Play-action passing. Quarterback Andrew Luck was 5-for-5 with two touchdowns when using play-action. He averaged 22.2 yards per completion.
