Could an impressive bowl run be the catalyst in returning the Big Ten back to college football's forefront? Adding Nebraska next year certainly won't hurt, but the conference surely needed a run to spark some sort of momentum, as it was quickly falling out of favor nationally.

Perhaps that lift came when the Big Ten won four bowl games against ranked opponents. A national championship run by a member school would certainly boost conference popularity as a nationally respected program such as the Cornhuskers waits in the wings.
