The PAC-10 turned PAC-Man this past off-season, trying to gobble up disgruntled football programs from other conferences (most notably the Big 12) as well as NCAA black sheep looking to join the BCS ranks.
At one point it seemed a West Coast super conference was inevitable. The PAC-16 could have led to an East Coast versus West Coast gridiron turf war as they would compete with the Big Ten and SEC for national media prominence and football dominance.
